Bars on Koh Chang come in three different categories. The first one is roadside bars, usually found along the main road of each beach. These places offer cheap cocktails and beers, and some also serve a choice of local and international snacks. Then there’s a beer bar. A misnomer, beer bar also serves cheap cocktails as well as other kinds of drinks like whiskey and spirit. It’s a great place to hang out, especially if you’re a single male traveler looking for a companion for the night. A clutter of formulaic beer bars can be found in almost every beach area. The major ones one are located towards the end of the White Sand Beach (also known as ‘Little Pattaya’ for obvious reasons) and in the middle of Kai Bae Beach. Perhaps the most popular ones of all three are beach bars. Often with low chairs and seats (some places provide rubber mats for guests to sit right on the very beach), beach bars are extremely famous, and have become synonymous with Koh Chang nightlife. Delight in great live music, affordable drinks and exciting fire shows, which are featured on a nightly basis.
