Klong Prao Beach Area Guide
The largest beach on Koh Chang, Klong Prao Beach is located four kilometres south of Klong Prao Beach and fourteen kilometres from Dan Kao Pier, starting at the point where Laem Chaichet (a small cape between White Sand and Klong Prao beaches) ends. The beach itself is quite unique as it’s divided into three sections by the river estuary of Klong Plu Waterfall and a channel in the south. Much quieter than Klong Prao Beach, Klong Prao beach is ideal for those who appreciate tranquil surroundings and gorgeous rocky landscape.

The Beach
Although less popular than its neighbour, Klong Prao Beach, Klong Prao Beach is, in fact, not just your ordinary, everyday beach. Thanks to its location, the beach is split roughly into three sections by Klong Plu Waterfall’s river estuary. This creates magnificent mangroves and unique views of both the river and the sea. Being the largest beach on Koh Chang, Klong Prao beach is ideal for all sorts of activities including canoeing and kayaking to the adjacent islands of Koh Yuak and Koh Pli where great snorkeling can be enjoyed. Nightlife in Klong Prao Beach
Although relatively a quiet beach, nightlife in Klong Prao beach isn’t completely nonexistent. A fun night out awaits at VJ Plaza in Chai Chet Village, where a few bars and cafes are located. Most of these places offer all the basics, namely cheap drinks, light snacks, classic board games, sport TV, pool table and a dartboard. Some also offer live music and nightly movie screening. Dining in Klong Prao Beach
Klong Prao Beach offers a mix of roadside restaurants and plush eateries found in the beach’s many luxury resorts. Not to be missed is a couple of small restaurants at the entrance of Klong Plu Waterfall. Shopping in Klong Prao Beach
Klong Prao Beach has three villages – each with its own shopping plaza. The three villages are Bann Chai Chet (in the north end of the beach), Baan Klong Prao (the original main village located in the middle) and Baan Map Khangkhao (in the south end). You’ll find local the usual assortment of small shops, bars, restaurants, convenient stores, banks, tailors, tour agents, massage places as well as local facilities like temples, schools and clinics.
